  • The initial Zoom or phone call is free of charge. This is an opportunity to discuss any questions or concerns you might have and to discuss what the needs of the child or young person are. There is no obligation to commit to any sessions.

    The assessment with the child will last up to 50 minutes and is charged at the same rate as a session - £75.

  • The duration of a counselling session will usually be up to 50 minutes.

    One-off parent/carer consultations will last 60 minutes. The parent/consultation package consists of one 1.5 hour meeting and two 1 hour meetings.

  • Counselling with Justine is based in St. Albans, Hertfordshire.

    The sessions take place in a privately rented room. The space is safe and confidential.

    Parent/Carer consultations can take place via Zoom or face-to-face in St. Albans.

  • Counselling offers children and young people an opportunity to explore any issues or challenges that may be causing problems in their social, emotional or cognitive development.

    The therapeutic relationship and interventions support and facilitate children and young people in expressing and processing difficult or confused feelings in a safe space.

    Together the child and counsellor can identify healthy coping strategies that they can use to manage these feelings and any future challenges they might face.

    The use of creative therapeutic tools such as drama or art can be particularly helpful if children struggle to express themselves verbally.

  • There are several benefits and each client will benefit in different ways. Early intervention for children and young people can prevent mental health difficulties in later years.

    The main benefits include:

    • It offers a safe space for them to make sense of their difficult experiences.

    • It can facilitate them to process painful feelings they struggle to acknowledge or express.

    • It can equip them with coping strategies for future challenges they may face.
